Heavenly Father, through Our Lady Queen of Peace,
We pray for Russia:
Complete the good work You have begun there.
Convert it and bring peace to the world.

Mission Statement

Our Lady told us, by way of the little shepherd children of Fatima, that peace would come to the world through the conversion of Russia. Yet of all the mission fields in the world it is sad to see how little support the Church in Russia receives. Even the Vatican is unable to help very much as relations are so delicate between the Roman Church and the Orthodox. Yet one can see why it is that Mary has such a special concern for Russia. The Church and the people of Russia have suffered so much in the seventy years of Communism and the young there know so little of the love and mercy of God which would bring them such consolation and strength to face the many, many difficulties of living in a former communist country. The very few priests there are truly heroic, not to mention so many of the parishioners who travel huge distances in the freezing cold, often on rickety, unheated busses to attend Mass. Even though Communism has come to an end and the Church is finally able to continue the work of saving souls without fear of imprisonment or death at the hands of the Soviets, the Church there is still suffering in many ways.

Precious Life Ministries' Mission Apostolate was started to help in the work of bringing souls to Christ through providing small books on the Catholic Faith to those who are working in countries where the faith is so badly needed. There are very few books on the Faith in Russia and even fewer for children. We have recently printed a small booklet of homilies, as well as a children's book on the seven sacraments in Russian and are hoping to assist missionaries by donating books, not only in parishes but through the various religious orders which are working in isolated areas throughout Russia. Seventy years of Communism has left such a void of hope and love, but even now, after the fall of Communism, it is very difficult to spread the faith, especially as there are so few priests and missionaries for so great an area.

Of course prayer is the main thing, but we also hope that God has a plan for these books. A wonderful Catholic Foundation has given a grant to Precious Life Ministries for this "Russian Printing Project," but we still need help to pay the remaining printing and shipping costs to send these books to the missions and to families and children who otherwise might never learn about God's infinite love and mercy.

If you are able to make a donation for this work, you will receive a copy of both these small books in English, which we pray will be a blessing for your own family as well. The children's book, The Little Butterfly who Loved Jesus, would make a great first communion gift for your children or grandchildren and you are sure to love Fr. Cumming's homilies, Making God the Joy of Our Soul, as they have already touched many souls with their fervor and love for Christ!

Please read more about these books on this website.
Every book ordered will help to send a box of books to Russia.
